Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL), a leading cleantech and decarbonisation solutions company, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Immersive Technology and Entrepreneurship Labs Foundation (ITEL), Chennai. The partnership is aimed at accelerating research, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives across bioenergy, waste management, and green technologies.
The collaboration creates a structured framework for joint research and development, consultancy assignments, training programs, and funding proposals. Both organisations will work together to develop scalable and commercially viable solutions in the bioenergy and environmental sustainability space, addressing growing demand for cleaner and more efficient technologies.
As part of the agreement, the two entities will collaborate on advanced research in bioenergy, green chemicals, and waste management while also exploring national and international funding opportunities, including those supported by BIRAC and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The partnership will also focus on skill development through internships and industry-oriented training, alongside providing access to ORSL’s advanced R&D infrastructure for joint experimentation and pilot validation. A key priority will be the commercialisation of research outcomes and the development of intellectual property.
The initiative further strengthens ORSL’s commitment to expanding its Research & Innovation Centre (RIC) in Navi Mumbai, which is increasingly emerging as a key platform for validating and scaling decarbonisation technologies in India. Backed by support from the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), the company has built strong capabilities in compressed biogas (CBG), carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), and green chemicals. ORSL is now actively transitioning its innovations from lab-scale development to full-scale commercial deployment, creating a robust pipeline of next-generation clean technologies.
This MoU is also part of ORSL’s broader strategy to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem. The company has partnered with leading institutions such as IIT BHU, IIT Roorkee, and SSS-NIBE to strengthen research, process optimisation, and technology validation efforts. These collaborations position ORSL as a bridge between academia and industry, enabling faster scale-up and deployment of climate-focused solutions.
