Maharashtra Scooters Limited has reported a sharp rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, aided by one-time exceptional gains. The company’s profit after tax surged to ₹51.63 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to just ₹0.10 crore in the same quarter last year.

Financial Performance (Q4 FY25 vs Q4 FY24)

  • Revenue from operations stood at ₹6.65 crore, up from ₹5.18 crore in Q4 FY24.

    • Interest income contributed ₹5.71 crore (vs ₹2.90 crore YoY)

    • Net gain on fair value changes stood at ₹0.66 crore (vs ₹0.40 crore)

    • Revenue from sale of goods declined to ₹0.28 crore (from ₹1.88 crore)

  • Other income came in at ₹1.00 crore versus nil in the year-ago period.

  • Total income was ₹6.75 crore, compared to ₹5.18 crore in Q4 FY24.

Expense Summary

  • Total expenses stood at ₹2.38 crore, slightly higher than ₹2.18 crore in the same quarter last year.

    • Cost of raw material consumed was ₹0.44 crore (vs ₹1.27 crore)

    • Employee benefit expenses reduced to ₹0.05 crore (from ₹2.22 crore)

    • Depreciation and amortisation stood at ₹0.48 crore (vs ₹0.52 crore)

    • Other expenses remained steady at ₹1.41 crore

Exceptional Gains Drive Profit Surge

The sharp uptick in quarterly profit was mainly due to exceptional items totaling ₹57.68 crore, which included:

  • Profit on transfer of leasehold rights of land and building: ₹47.11 crore

  • Profit on sale of machinery and other assets: ₹10.57 crore

These one-time gains pushed the profit before tax to ₹5.37 crore (excluding exceptional gains: ₹4.37 crore).

For the full financial year FY25, Maharashtra Scooters reported a net profit of ₹214.35 crore, compared to ₹199.31 crore in FY24, indicating a healthy year-on-year growth.
