In a dramatic corporate development, Macrotech Developers Limited, the parent company behind the Lodha brand, has alleged that entities associated with the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) have used fabricated and false documents, including a forged board resolution and altered PAN card, to illegally gain approval for corporate name changes and infringe on the Lodha trademark.

In a regulatory filing dated April 2, 2025, Macrotech revealed that it discovered these forgeries while pursuing legal action against HoABL for infringing its intellectual property rights. The company stated that no such board resolution was ever passed granting permission to use its trademark, and the signature of one of its independent directors appearing on the resolution was forged. Moreover, the attached PAN card of the said director had a mismatched signature and altered photograph.

The company claims that these fake documents were used by at least two HoABL companies to secure approval from government authorities to change their corporate names to include “Lodha”—a registered trademark of Macrotech Developers. These entities then used the altered names to further their business activities.

In response, Macrotech’s board convened on April 2, 2025, to review the alarming developments and has constituted a Special Committee of Directors to investigate the matter and take appropriate legal action. Group MD & CEO Abhishek Lodha has recused himself from this committee.

This is the latest chapter in the ongoing legal dispute between the two corporate groups, following Macrotech’s earlier suit against HoABL entities for IPR violations and brand misrepresentation. The company has confirmed that further updates will be posted on its website.
