Lodha Developers Ltd has significantly expanded its investment footprint in Maharashtra by committing a total of ₹1.3 lakh crore towards developing a mega data centre park, positioning it as the largest such project in India. The latest commitment of ₹1 lakh crore comes barely four months after the company signed an initial memorandum of understanding worth ₹30,000 crore with the Maharashtra government.

The fresh MoU was signed on January 19 during the World Economic Forum in Davos by Abhishek Lodha, Managing Director and CEO of Lodha Developers, reinforcing the group’s long-term confidence in Maharashtra’s infrastructure and digital growth story. The cumulative investment will be channelled into developing a massive data centre park with a planned capacity of approximately 2.5 gigawatts.

In September last year, Lodha Developers had entered into an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra under the state’s Green Integrated Data Centre Park policy, committing ₹30,000 crore. The additional ₹1 lakh crore investment now substantially scales up the project and underlines the company’s strategic focus on digital infrastructure.

The proposed data centre park is expected to generate more than 16,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, providing a major boost to the state’s economy. With its large-scale power capacity and integrated infrastructure, the park is designed to host multiple global and domestic hyperscale data centre operators.

Several major players have already shown strong interest. Amazon has acquired a land parcel within the park and secured power arrangements for the next 15 years, signalling long-term operational plans. Singapore-based STT Global Data Centres has also acquired land in the same park, further validating its global appeal.

Leveraging its decades-long legacy in construction and real estate development, Lodha Developers will act as the core developer for multiple companies planning to establish data centres within the park. The project is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Maharashtra’s position as a leading digital and data infrastructure hub in India.
