Kernex Microsystems has received a major boost to its order book after being awarded a large domestic contract by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). The order, valued at ₹2,465.71 crore, relates to the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 3,024 sets of On-board KAVACH locomotive equipment, in line with RDSO Specification No. RDSO/SPN/196/2020, Version 4.0 or the latest applicable version.

This order marks a significant milestone for Kernex Microsystems and further strengthens its position in India’s rapidly expanding railway safety and signalling segment. The KAVACH system, which is central to Indian Railways’ push for enhanced train safety, is designed to prevent collisions and improve operational reliability across the network. With this contract, Kernex will play a key role in supporting the nationwide rollout of advanced train protection systems.

The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, located in Chittaranjan, Barddhaman, and is to be executed within a period of 12 months from the date of the purchase order. The scope of work includes end-to-end delivery, covering supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the KAVACH equipment on locomotives, ensuring compliance with the latest RDSO standards.

From a financial and strategic perspective, the ₹2,465.71 crore order significantly enhances Kernex Microsystems’ revenue visibility over the coming quarters. It also reinforces the company’s credibility as a trusted technology partner for large-scale railway safety projects. Importantly, the company has confirmed that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity, and the contract does not fall under related party transactions.
