JSW Neo Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC Limited for a 400 MW ISTS-connected solar power project. This award is part of NTPC’s Tariff-based Competitive Bid for 1,500 MW ISTS-connected Solar Power Projects (NTPC-ISTS-III). With this new project, JSW Neo’s total locked-in generation capacity now reaches 19.6 GW, including 4.4 GW from solar energy.
JSW Energy, which currently operates 7.7 GW across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy (RE) projects, has set an ambitious target of 10 GW operational capacity by FY 2025. The company is also focusing on energy storage with 16.2 GWh of locked-in capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
Looking further ahead, JSW Energy plans to expand its generation capacity to 20 GW and its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030. With a strong commitment to sustainability, JSW Energy aims to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
