JSW Energy signs 180 MW wind power PPA with Amazon

JSW Energy has recently informed exchanges that JSW Neo Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has signed a renewable energy (RE) power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon for 180 MW of wind power. This strategic deal strengthens JSW Energy’s position in the clean energy sector, furthering its commitment to sustainable power solutions.

Following this agreement, JSW Energy’s locked-in RE Commercial and Industrial (C&I) capacity now stands at 4.0 GW. This includes 2.7 GW of JSW group captive capacity and 1.3 GW of third-party C&I capacity, including projects from O2 Power. The company’s C&I portfolio features leading clients such as Amazon, DCM Shriram Ltd, and Indus Towers Ltd.

JSW Energy currently operates 8.2 GW of power generation capacity across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources. The company has an ambitious roadmap, with a locked-in generation capacity of 30 GW and 16.3 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects.

With a goal to achieve 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage well before 2030, JSW Energy continues to drive India’s transition towards a greener future.
