IRCTC Q3 FY25 Results: Revenue up 9.8% YoY to Rs 1224.66 crore, Net Profit up 13.6% YoY

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) reported robust earnings for the third quarter of FY25, demonstrating solid growth across key financial metrics. For the quarter ended December 31, 2024, the company’s net profit stood at ₹341.08 crores, marking an impressive 13.6% increase compared to ₹299.99 crores reported in Q3 FY24. The growth in profitability was supported by higher revenues and operational efficiencies.

The company’s revenue from operations increased by 9.8% year-on-year to ₹1,224.66 crores, compared to ₹1,115.48 crores during the corresponding quarter last year. The growth was largely driven by higher revenue contributions from its catering, tourism, and rail booking segments. Total income, which includes other income, reached ₹1,281.20 crores for the quarter, up from ₹1,161.04 crores in the year-ago period.

On the expense side, IRCTC recorded total expenses of ₹820.65 crores for the quarter, compared to ₹740.17 crores in Q3 FY24, reflecting an 11% rise. Key components of the expenditure included manufacturing costs, catering services, and employee benefits. However, the company’s disciplined cost control helped mitigate the impact of rising expenses on overall profitability.

The company’s tax outflow for the quarter stood at ₹154.6 crores compared to ₹106.36 crores in the previous year. The growth outlook remains optimistic, given the company’s expansion in tourism, digital ticketing, and catering services.
