Indus Towers to acquire 16,100 telecom towers from Bharti Airtel & Bharti Hexacom for Rs 3,308 crore

Indus Towers Limited has announced the acquisition of passive infrastructure assets, including 16,100 telecom towers, from Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom through a slump sale. This strategic move aligns with the company’s vision to expand its market share and enhance operational synergies.

With a strong presence across India, Indus Towers currently operates 234,643 towers and 386,819 co-locations. The acquisition will further strengthen its portfolio, supporting future growth and network expansion.

The transaction, valued at up to INR 33,087 million, is a related-party deal conducted at arm’s length, backed by an independent valuation report. The acquisition is expected to be completed by March 31, 2025, subject to statutory approvals.

Financed through borrowings, this acquisition reinforces Indus Towers’ commitment to driving connectivity across India. By adding more sites, including Macro Sites, Ultra Lean Sites (ULS), and Cell on Wheels (COW), the company aims to boost colocation opportunities, improve revenue streams, and enhance service quality.
