Gujarat Natural Resources Limited (GNRL) and its step-down subsidiary, GNRL Oil & Gas Limited (GOGL), have announced the initiation of a major drilling campaign set to begin in February 2025. The company aims to drill seven wells across key development blocks, with an estimated total investment of ₹69 crore (USD 8 million).
The campaign will primarily target the Kanwara development block, where three wells will be drilled to depths of up to 1,800 meters. Additionally, the campaign includes one well each in 100% owned blocks in North Kathana (up to 3,000 meters), Dholasan (up to 2,200 meters), Alora (up to 2,000 meters), and Unawa (up to 1,600 meters).
Currently, GOGL produces 20,000 SCMD (Standard Cubic Meters per Day) of gas and 120 barrels of oil daily. The company expects to convert over 20 million barrels of oil equivalent into proven reserves through this drilling initiative, following successful testing results.
Preparations for the campaign are progressing steadily, with all necessary equipment and third-party services already secured through standard procurement processes. The well locations have been selected after detailed discussions with the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) and verification by reputed third-party agencies.
GNRL has assured continuous updates regarding this campaign as it aims to enhance its exploration success and strengthen its reserves portfolio.
