Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a leading shipbuilding company under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has signed a contract for the construction and delivery of the second 7,500 Deadweight Tonnage (DWT) Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) from a series of four additional vessels. The contract was signed on December 4, 2024, in Hamburg, Germany.
This development follows GRSE’s announcement in September 2024, when the company confirmed that it had secured an order for the construction of four additional MPVs. These vessels are part of GRSE’s efforts to bolster maritime logistics and meet growing global demands for high-capacity, versatile ships.
The contract for the second vessel strengthens GRSE’s reputation as a leading shipbuilder, continuing its legacy of delivering state-of-the-art ships to clients worldwide. The company also announced that contracts for the remaining two vessels in the series would be signed in due course.
