The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached ‘Abode’, the Mumbai residence of Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, valued at ₹3,716 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), official sources said on Wednesday. The action is part of an ongoing money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud case involving Reliance Communications (RCOM).
The luxurious 17-storey residence, which stands 66 metres tall, is located in the upscale Pali Hill area of Mumbai. The ED has issued a provisional attachment order under the PMLA, targeting the multi-storeyed property as part of its probe into alleged financial irregularities connected to RCOM. With this latest move, the total value of assets attached in the case has reached approximately ₹15,700 crore.
Anil Ambani, 66, is expected to appear before the federal agency for his second round of questioning in the matter. He had earlier deposed before the ED in August 2025, when his statement was recorded under the provisions of the anti-money laundering law. The investigation is focused on examining financial transactions and the alleged diversion of loan funds in connection with the telecom company.
