Datamatics secures Automatic Fare Collection contract for Pune Metro Line 3

Datamatics Global Services Limited has been awarded the prestigious contract for designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system for 23 stations of Pune Metro Line 3. The system will be deployed across the elevated 23 km route from Hinjewadi to Civil Court (Shivaji Nagar) under the public-private partnership initiative led by the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) along with TRIL Urban Transport and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH.

The AFC system will be equipped with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) standard, allowing commuters to use open-loop contactless cards and QR-based ticketing for seamless transactions. This future-ready, multi-modal payment system will enhance the city’s public transport connectivity, reducing manual intervention and improving real-time passenger and revenue management.
