Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited and Navitas Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: NVTS), a global leader in next-generation GaNFast gallium nitride (GaN) and GeneSiC silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors, have entered into a strategic long-term partnership aimed at accelerating GaN innovation in India. The collaboration is set to play a major role in developing an end-to-end GaN ecosystem and strengthening India’s capabilities in advanced power semiconductor technologies.
Both companies plan to co-develop a wide range of GaN-based products, including advanced digital and mixed-signal ICs, power modules and design enablement platforms. These innovations will be targeted at India’s rapidly growing high-voltage and high-power sectors such as AI-driven data centers, electric mobility, high-performance computing, industrial electrification and modern energy grid infrastructure. With demand for efficient, high-power electronics rising sharply across these industries, the timing of the partnership aligns perfectly with India’s technology transformation.
A key focus of the collaboration is to build a robust, secure and fully localized GaN supply chain that supports the Government of India’s “Make in India” mission. By developing manufacturing capabilities and ecosystem support within the country, Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas aim to significantly reduce dependency on global supply chains and shorten the development cycle for OEMs and developers in the region.
The partnership will also help bring Navitas’ existing GaN technologies into the Indian market while enabling the creation of new products tailored specifically for India’s unique power and infrastructure needs. Cyient’s push to create a strong domestic ecosystem is expected to improve time-to-market for high-voltage solutions and accelerate India’s progress toward becoming a global hub for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
