Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced a significant milestone, signing a contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, for the short refit and dry docking of a large Indian naval vessel. The contract, valued at over ₹1,000 crore, underscores CSL’s continued commitment to supporting India’s defense capabilities.
The refit and dry docking project is expected to be completed within approximately five months. This project highlights CSL’s robust expertise in ship repair and refurbishment, further solidifying its position as a key player in India’s maritime and defense sector.
Cochin Shipyard, which has a rich history of delivering critical projects for the Indian Navy, will carry out the maintenance work at its state-of-the-art facilities in Kochi. The project involves comprehensive repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to enhance the operational readiness of the naval vessel.
The company confirmed that no promoter, promoter group, or group companies have any interest in the Ministry of Defence, and the transaction does not fall under related party agreements.
