Bharat Forge has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Germany-based Agile Robots to jointly explore the fast-evolving space of AI-driven robotics and intelligent industrial automation. The Indo-German collaboration is focused exclusively on civilian manufacturing and aims to deploy next-generation automation solutions across automotive, healthcare, and consumer electronics industries.
The partnership brings together Bharat Forge’s deep domain expertise in manufacturing with Agile Robots’ advanced capabilities in intelligent robotics, vision systems, and AI-based automation. Together, the two companies plan to co-develop customised, modular solutions tailored for manufacturing, industrial consumer packaged goods, and logistics sectors, with a strong focus on the Indian and Southeast Asian markets. Existing automation solutions from Agile Robots will also be adapted and scaled for regional requirements.
A key objective of the collaboration is the development and deployment of state-of-the-art vision-enabled robotic systems to support fully autonomous or “dark” factories. These facilities are designed to operate with minimal human intervention, improving efficiency, precision, safety, and overall productivity in industrial operations.
Commenting on the agreement, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge Limited, said the collaboration reinforces the company’s ambition to deliver intelligent robotic and automation solutions across multiple industries. He highlighted that manufacturing in India is on a strong growth trajectory and noted that the partnership with Agile Robots will enable the deployment of bespoke and scalable automation technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency across sectors.
Rory Sexton, Executive Director at Agile Robots, stated that the partnership strengthens the company’s presence in India’s rapidly expanding manufacturing ecosystem. He added that combining Agile Robots’ leadership in AI-driven robotic automation with Bharat Forge’s sectoral expertise will help improve the efficiency and precision of complete production systems.
