BEML secures order for 50-ton trailer worth Rs 83.51 crores from Ministry of Defence

The 50-ton trailer is designed for transporting battle tanks and features 12 twin-wheels for durability, ensuring stability in challenging terrains. With a payload capacity of 50 tonnes, it is engineered to be towed by BEML’s HMV 8×8 vehicle.

BEML Limited, a leading public sector company under the Ministry of Defence, has secured a significant contract from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of a 50-ton trailer valued at approximately INR 83.51 crore. This order demonstrates BEML’s capabilities in providing advanced, indigenous solutions to enhance India’s defence infrastructure.

The 50-ton trailer is designed for transporting battle tanks and features 12 twin wheels for durability, ensuring stability in challenging terrains. With a payload capacity of 50 tonnes, it is engineered to be towed by BEML’s HMV 8×8 vehicle. The trailer includes advanced features such as a steerable turntable, air brake systems, emergency brakes, and parking brakes. Its rear chassis frame is equipped with ramps designed for efficient tank loading.

Commenting on the achievement, Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director of BEML, expressed pride in the order and emphasized BEML’s capacity to produce indigenized products. He further stated that this contract highlights BEML’s growing role in supporting India’s defence sector.
