BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has announced the signing of a contract worth ₹64.38 crore for overhead electrification (OHE), traction substation (TSS), and SCADA work for a new line section between Araria and Thakurganj in Northeast Frontier (N.F.) Railway. The contract, awarded by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 25KV, 50Hz, single-phase AC electrification infrastructure, covering 106.958 RKM/119.27 TKM.

Commenting on the contract, BCPL’s Chairman, Mr. Aparesh Nandi, expressed optimism about the pipeline of orders and highlighted the strategic importance of the project, which connects the Northeast and rural parts of India, contributing to the development of the “Chicken’s Neck Area.”
