AXISCADES Technologies Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cilas S.A., a French company known for its expertise in laser technology. The partnership aims to bring advanced Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) solutions — basically, systems that can detect and take down enemy drones — to the Indian Armed Forces.
At the center of this collaboration is Cilas’ high-energy laser weapon system, Helma-P, which can destroy hostile drones mid-air using precision laser beams. Under the MoU, AXISCADES will take charge of designing the overall system architecture, tailoring it to the Indian Army’s needs. The two companies will work together to co-develop a vehicle-mounted C-UAS solution, where Helma-P will be integrated into AXISCADES’ advanced command and control platform.
This partnership marks a strong step in India–France defense cooperation, blending French laser technology with Indian engineering and innovation. It reflects both nations’ growing focus on developing world-class defense systems and enhancing the operational capabilities of India’s armed forces.
