Key Highlights of Afcons’ Contribution:

  • The New Ashok Nagar Station, built by Afcons, is the first elevated station of the corridor in Delhi and offers interconnectivity with the New Ashok Nagar Metro Station on the Delhi Metro network.
  • The six bow-string steel spans, installed at Kondli in East Delhi, include three spans of 50m each and three spans of 70m each, with a combined length of 360 metres.
  • Erection of the spans was conducted under challenging conditions, including heavy traffic and an irrigation canal. The work was carried out in coordination with NCRTC using meticulous planning and precision.

The Package 6 of the project, executed by Afcons, spans approximately 10.56km, covering an elevated viaduct from Sarai Kale Khan Station to the New Ashok Nagar DN Ramp, along with the construction of the Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations.

Afcons is also responsible for Package 8 of the corridor, further strengthening its contribution to the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, aimed at enhancing regional semi-high-speed connectivity in the National Capital Region.
