Adani Power Limited has received a major boost with the award of a Letter of Award (LoA) from Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for a 3,200 MW (4×800 MW) greenfield ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be built in Assam. The information was communicated to the company via email at 4:19 p.m. on November 13, 2025, according to its stock exchange filing.
As per the disclosure, the project will be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model, with fuel sourced through coal linkage allocated to APDCL under the Centre’s SHAKTI Policy. The entire 3,200 MW output will be supplied to APDCL on a long-term basis.
The project is expected to be executed in phases, with the first unit targeted for commissioning in December 2030 and full completion slated for December 2032.
Adani Power clarified that this is not a related-party transaction and that the awarding authority—APDCL—is a domestic entity with no promoter-group interest. The terms and conditions follow APDCL’s tender provisions.
