Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Ramkumar Ramamoorthy resigns after serving 23 years that was confirmed last week. Company seeking new CMD.

Brian Humphries, Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant stated in his intern note, “The new Managing Director will act as a representative of our 200.000 Indian associates and will collaborate with local Indigenous government organisations, company chambres, academics, the media and key policymaking agencies like Nasscom.

Humphries did not suggest a timeline but confirmed that it is anticipated that the CMD quest will be completed in the coming months.

A spokesperson for the Cognizant community stated that it is not yet clear if an external applicant or anyone in the organization should occupy the role.

The company should possibly consider international applicants who have a thorough understanding of corporate governance and of India’s market and new technology, People who know the subject have stated.

After entering Cognizant in April 2019, Humphries has placed Cognizant back on track of progress in four big technology areas, including the cloud, software innovation, communication and internet.

Resignation of other members

Over the past two years , the business has seen a variety of executive withdrawals. After a 24-year period, Pradeep Shilige also resigned as global distribution manager.

With immediate repercussions Andy Stafford was named as the current global distribution boss, but Shilige would remain with the organization to ensure a seamless transition by 30 September.

A number of other executive vice presidents have also retired whih include Poondir J aide-ep, Balaji Rajesh, Kidiyur Vinayambika, Ramanakumar Archana, and Gaur Vikash.

The explanation for the departure is not clear, but sources in the industry think that it could be a deliberate move to update and boost the company’s strong framework.

During the quarter of March, Cognizant ‘s digital sector rose 19% a year, contributing 41% of its sales.
