Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26, showcasing robust operational and financial performance. The company achieved a crude throughput of 2.93 million metric tonnes (MMT) during the quarter, maintaining a capacity utilisation of 112%, a slight dip from 2.97 MMT in the same quarter of the previous year.
For the year ending March 31, 2026, CPCL reported a total crude throughput of 11.71 MMT, compared to 10.45 MMT in the previous year, sustaining a capacity utilisation of 112%. The company also maintained its best-ever distillate yield of approximately 80%, highlighting its operational excellence and focus on energy efficiency.
Financially, CPCL’s revenue from operations for the quarter stood at ₹20,455 crore, marginally lower than ₹20,581 crore in the same period last year. However, the profit before tax (PBT) surged to ₹1,890 crore, with a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹1,400 crore, compared to a PBT of ₹582 crore and PAT of ₹450 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
For the full year ending March 31, 2026, CPCL reported revenue from operations of ₹78,611 crore, up from ₹71,050 crore in the previous year. The PBT for the year was ₹4,122 crore, and the PAT was ₹3,062 crore, significantly higher than the previous year’s PBT of ₹208 crore and PAT of ₹174 crore.
The company’s gross refining margin (GRM) for the quarter improved to US$ 13.75 per barrel, compared to US$ 6.22 per barrel in the same period last year. For the year, the GRM was US$ 9.28 per barrel, up from US$ 4.22 per barrel in the previous year.
On a consolidated basis, CPCL recorded a PAT of ₹3,103 crore for the year and ₹1,422 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2026. The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹54 per share with a face value of ₹10 per share, in addition to an interim dividend of ₹8 per share declared during the year.
