Blinkit, a leader in quick commerce, has taken a step forward by introducing a dedicated fleet of large-order electric vehicles (EVs), designed to handle bulky deliveries such as electronics and party orders. The fleet is currently operational in Delhi and Gurugram, with plans to expand to other cities soon.
Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, marked the launch with hands-on involvement and shared his experience in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
“Starting the NYE posts this year from one of our stores (in Nirvana Country, Gurugram),” Dhindsa wrote, sharing a picture of himself sporting a bright yellow delivery agent’s jacket.

In subsequent posts, Dhindsa revealed his plan to pick and pack orders himself. “Let’s see how much time it takes me,” he joked. After completing his first task—a grocery bag full of food items—he posted: “Done. Took me 2 minute 57 seconds to pick and pack. Too slow,” he admitted, adding that the store’s average picking time is just 1 minute 46 seconds. “Sorry for the delay and happy new year to whoever’s order this was.”
Dhindsa then moved on to a larger order: a mini air hockey table and other items. He announced that he would deliver it personally using the new large-order EV fleet, stating, “These are all electric vehicles designed to handle large (electronics/party orders) orders. Currently live in Delhi and Gurugram. Will be launching this in other cities very soon.”
Before heading back to his office, Dhindsa shared photos of himself with the delivery vehicle and team members, emphasizing the company’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in the quick commerce space.
