Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, recently took to social media to share an unexpected trend in the company’s delivery statistics on the occasion of Dhanteras. Posting at around 12:25 PM, Dhindsa noted that Blinkit had already delivered significantly more brooms, or “jhaadus,” than it typically does on a regular Tuesday. Dhanteras, a Hindu festival known for auspicious purchases, has seemingly brought an unexpected spike in orders for this household item.

In his post, Dhindsa shared a graph displaying the “Jhaadu Orders Trend,” which highlighted a sharp rise in deliveries on October 29, the day of Dhanteras, compared to previous days. The chart clearly shows a steep increase beginning early in the day, surpassing the trend of October 27 and 28. Dhindsa captioned the post with a touch of surprise, stating, “Dhanteras never ceases to surprise me!”

This sudden surge could be linked to the cultural significance associated with Dhanteras, where cleaning and preparing homes for the upcoming Diwali festival is customary. The unexpected demand for brooms on Blinkit showcases the platform’s ability to quickly adapt and cater to customers’ unique festive needs.
