Astra Microwave Products Limited (AMPL) has announced significant leadership changes as part of its strategic demerger plan. The company’s Board of Directors, in a meeting held on 27th February 2026, approved the in-principle demerger of its Space, Meteorology, and Hydrology business into a separate entity.
Mr. S. Gurunatha Reddy, the current Managing Director of AMPL, will oversee the ongoing demerger process. Upon completion, he will join Astra Space Technologies Private Limited (ASTPL) as a Director, subject to Board approval. His role will focus on adopting growth strategies and capital allocation frameworks tailored to the Space, Meteorology, and Hydrology sectors, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and unlock shareholder value.
Mr. Reddy will step down as Managing Director of AMPL at the close of business on 30th September 2026 but will continue as an Executive Director. The company expressed its gratitude for Mr. Reddy’s contributions to AMPL’s growth during his tenure and is optimistic about his future impact at ASTPL.
In a further leadership update, Dr. M. V. Reddy, the current Joint Managing Director, will assume the role of Managing Director of AMPL effective 1st October 2026, pending Board approval. AMPL is confident that under Dr. Reddy’s leadership, the company will achieve even greater milestones in the future.
