Adani Penna Cement has been working with the Gram Panchayat in Patas to implement a series of infrastructure and community development initiatives that have begun to reshape everyday life in surrounding villages.

The initiative began with the construction of a community hall in Kangaon village at a cost of Rs. 17 lakh, addressing a long-standing demand. The facility now serves as a shared space for social gatherings, discussions and local decision-making.

Expanding its focus to environmental sustainability, the company has undertaken riverbank and ghat development work along the Bhima river during the current financial year. The project, estimated at Rs. 60 lakh, aims to improve accessibility while ensuring safer and more sustainable use of the riverbanks.

Education and safety have emerged as key intervention areas. At Yede Basti School, a boundary wall has been constructed and educational wall paintings introduced to create a secure and engaging learning environment. Basic infrastructure and drinking water support have also been prioritised.

At Betwadi School, over 40 benches and desks have been provided, improving classroom conditions for students. Meanwhile, Navingar school has seen infrastructure upgrades including installation of a school gate, with plans for safe drinking water facilities, security cameras and further improvements.

The initiatives reflect a collaborative approach with the Gram Panchayat, focusing on addressing local needs through dialogue and accountability. The effort underscores a broader development philosophy that prioritises tangible impact on community life over scale alone.
