Adani Defence & Aerospace, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has unveiled India’s first public-private partnership-based Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System at Aero India 2025. Launched by Dr. B.K. Das, Director General (Electronics & Communication System) at DRDO, this cutting-edge platform underscores India’s growing focus on indigenous defence solutions and technological self-reliance.
With the increasing use of drones in modern warfare for surveillance and offensive operations, counter-drone solutions have become crucial for national security. This advanced system is designed to provide seamless protection against aerial threats, offering long-range detection, classification, and neutralization capabilities. The highly mobile system, integrated onto a single 4×4 vehicle, ensures operational agility and precision, making it an essential asset for modern defence forces.
Equipped with a high-energy laser system for precision drone neutralization, a 7.62 mm gun for aerial threat engagement, and a suite of advanced technologies including radar, SIGINT, electro-optical sensors, and jammers, the system provides comprehensive security within a 10 km range. The integration of multiple counter-drone technologies into a single platform ensures rapid response and adaptability in dynamic operational environments.
This strategic collaboration between Adani Defence & Aerospace and DRDO highlights India’s commitment to reducing import dependency and strengthening its defence ecosystem with homegrown innovations. As drone warfare continues to evolve, this next-generation counter-drone system positions India at the forefront of global defence technology.
