Acme Solar Holdings Ltd has successfully commissioned a 142.67 MW / 481.49 MWh (BESS) in . This marks the completion of phase-1 of their planned 585 MW / 2011.24 MWh BESS capacity.

The newly commissioned BESS is integrated with the existing Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and operates on a merchant basis, generating revenue through the price differential between peak and non-peak demand hours. In the long term, these systems will be integrated with respective FDRE projects under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

The BESS is designed to enhance grid reliability by optimising power utilisation, charging during non-peak periods, and discharging during peak demand. This capability is crucial for balancing energy supply and demand, thereby improving grid stability.
