Karan Bajwa who previously worked at Microsoft and IBM, has now been appointed as the chief of Google Cloud in the Asia Pacific Cloud Division. The predecessor of this position was Rick Harshman. Before Bajwa’s promotion, he was the head of India for Google Cloud. Bajwa would be working under Rob Enslin, President of Sales for Google Cloud.

Enslin stated, “Since Karan joined in March 2020, Google Cloud has grown from strength to strength. He’s advanced the digital transformation journeys of many large Indian organizations across industries and successfully expanded our partner community.”

Bajwa would be handling regional revenue and GTM (Go-to-market) operations for Google Cloud. This encompasses Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace. He would effectively begin from 5th January, 2021, according to a statement.

“With the disruptions of 2020 behind us, a true test of 2021 will be how companies replatform and build on the cloud, not only for resilience but agility and innovation, and I’m excited for the opportunity to lead Google Cloud’s business in APAC to maximize the next phase of its growth” said Bajwa.

Google Cloud has a variety of customers including ANZ Banks, Lendlease, Optus, Sharechat, Tech Mahindra, L&T Finance, Samsung Electronics, Wipro, Kia Motors, Go-JEK, Foxconn, Tokopedia and XL Axiata. This signifies their growing route within Asia Pacific.
