NLC India Limited has been granted a composite licence for the and in Balod District, . This development follows the company’s successful bid in the Tranche–V auction of Critical and Strategic Minerals conducted by the Ministry of Mines on 27 May 2025.

After emerging as the preferred bidder, submitted performance securities for both blocks to the Government of Chhattisgarh on 10 June 2025. The State Government issued a Letter of Intent for the composite licence on 2 September 2025, and NLC India subsequently prepared and submitted the Scheme of Prospecting to the Director of Geology and Mining, Government of Chhattisgarh, on 30 March 2026.

The composite licence, which allows for detailed geological exploration, was officially granted by the , Government of Chhattisgarh, on 24 April 2026. The licence was issued under letter numbers LAND-4401/29/2025-MRD and LAND-4401/30/2025-MRD.

This strategic move positions NLC India to explore and potentially develop these mineral-rich blocks, contributing to the company’s growth and resource acquisition strategy.
