Television actor Parth Samthaan has announced a temporary break from social media after facing a fresh wave of online harassment that reportedly targeted not just him but also his family, sparking concern among fans and industry colleagues.

Samthaan, who is currently winning praise for his role as Mahid in the Colors TV show Seher – Hone Ko Hai, shared a series of emotional stories on Instagram explaining his decision. He described himself as “fuming with anger” after noticing malicious comments and fake posts about his personal life and family, allegedly pushed through purchased bot accounts.

In his note, the actor said he has always tried to keep a positive, peaceful presence online but recent activities have deeply hurt him. “I have always been a peaceful and positive guy, focusing on the good, but recently I have noticed someone buying bot accounts and commenting rubbish on my family, me, and my personal life through those fake accounts. Shocking and extremely hurtful,” he wrote, adding that the experience has left him furious rather than indifferent

While he stopped short of naming any individual, Samthaan hinted that he may know who is behind the trolling, but chose not to escalate the matter with public accusations. Instead, he announced a “social media detox” of sorts, focusing on his mental well‑being and his ongoing work.

The move has drawn sympathies from fans and fellow entertainers, many of whom have used social media to call out cyber‑bullying and fake accounts. It also highlights the growing mental toll that online harassment can have on public figures, even those who have long maintained a cheerful and engaged digital persona
