Indian equity benchmarks traded largely flat on April 20, with the Nifty 50 hovering around 24,364.85, up just 0.05%. Despite the muted movement in the broader market, several stocks ended the session in the red.

Among the top laggards, Jio Financial Services declined 3.0% to close at ₹236.6, making it the biggest loser of the day. Hindalco Industries followed, falling 2.5% to ₹1,013.1.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles slipped 1.5% to ₹354.6, while Larsen & Toubro dropped 1.4% to ₹4,039.0. In the insurance space, HDFC Life Insurance ended 1.3% lower at ₹608.8.

IT stocks also saw some pressure. HCL Technologies declined 1.2% to ₹1,424.4, and Wipro fell 0.9% to ₹202.4. Meanwhile, Bharat Electronics lost 1.1% to close at ₹457.7.

In the pharma segment, Cipla edged down 1.0% to ₹1,228.8. Kotak Mahindra Bank rounded out the list, slipping 0.9% to ₹380.0.
