Adani Power Limited has announced the incorporation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited (CMAEL), under its existing wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL). The new entity was officially incorporated on April 13, 2026, with the certificate of incorporation received on April 18, 2026.
CMAEL, based in India, will operate in the nuclear energy sector. Its primary business activities will include the generation, transmission, and distribution of power derived from nuclear and atomic energy sources. This move aligns with Adani Power‘s strategic interests in expanding its footprint in the energy sector, particularly in nuclear energy.
The incorporation of CMAEL was completed with an authorised capital of ₹5,00,000, divided into 50,000 equity shares, each valued at ₹10. The entire shareholding of CMAEL is held by AAEL, which in turn is wholly owned by Adani Power Limited, ensuring full control over the new subsidiary.
The establishment of CMAEL did not require any governmental or regulatory approvals, and the nature of consideration for the incorporation was in cash. This strategic move by Adani Power is part of its broader efforts to diversify its energy portfolio and strengthen its position in the nuclear energy industry.
