Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the electric mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced its entry into Nepal as part of its international expansion strategy. The company has partnered with STC Auto Solution Private Limited to introduce its flagship electric scooter, Ampere Nexus, in the Nepalese market, marking a key milestone in its global growth journey.
With this launch, Greaves Electric Mobility aims to tap into Nepal’s growing electric two-wheeler demand, particularly in regions where challenging terrain and varying climatic conditions require robust and reliable mobility solutions. The Ampere Nexus is positioned as a performance-driven electric scooter engineered to handle steep gradients, uneven roads, high-altitude temperature variations, and dense urban traffic conditions commonly experienced across Nepal.
The Ampere Nexus gained recognition in India after becoming the first electric two-wheeler acknowledged by the Asia Book of Records for conquering 70 hairpin bends of Kolli Hills, one of South India’s most demanding hill routes. The scooter has also demonstrated its strength by reaching Shipki La Pass at an altitude of 13,200 feet, reinforcing its capability in high-altitude environments. These achievements underline the product’s engineering focus on durability, torque delivery, ride stability, and overall performance.
Equipped with an LFP battery, the Ampere Nexus offers enhanced thermal stability and consistent power delivery, ensuring confident uphill climbs and smooth acceleration even in stop-and-go traffic. The scooter has been designed to provide a stable and comfortable riding experience across varied terrains, making it suitable for Nepal’s mix of mountainous roads and urban centres.
On the technology front, the Ampere Nexus features a large 7-inch TFT touchscreen integrated with Nex.io, enabling full-screen map mirroring and seamless riding connectivity. Riders benefit from real-time turn-by-turn navigation, distance updates to the next turn, and estimated arrival time, improving convenience and route planning. The scooter also supports call connectivity, music control, and real-time vehicle monitoring, allowing riders to stay connected while maintaining focus on the road.
The Ampere Connect Companion app further enhances the ownership experience by offering smart pairing, ride tracking, and battery health monitoring. These connected features are designed to deliver a confident and future-ready electric mobility experience for customers in Nepal.
