Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8 Release Date
Netflix has announced that Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be releasing Season 8 of its popular sports documentary series on February 27, 2026.
In order to align with historical season structures of previous seasons and to stay consistent with the show’s purpose as a pre-season companion to the Formula One Series, Season 8 will probably consist of 10 episodes.
As of the beginning of February 2026, however, Netflix has not revealed any information regarding the titles of the 10 episodes or their duration.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8 Time And Schedule
Just like previous seasons, we can expect that all episodes of the new season will be made available for viewing at the same time. According to historical precedent for time zone considerations, the new episodes would likely be available starting on February 27 (at 12 am PT or 3 am ET, which is around 10 am GMT) in India; and if that same timing logistics are used by Netflix, it is also possible that people in India may have to wait until February 27 for the new episodes to become available since the series will not air until the 2026 Formula 1 Season begins with the Australian Grand Prix from March 6-8, 2026.
As with previous seasons, all episodes drop at once (Netflix’s standard binge-release format). The exact time is typically midnight PT / 3:00 AM ET (or aligned to local time zones, often around 12:00 AM or early morning in many regions). If you are from India (IST), then expect it to be available around February 27 evening or late night IST, depending on Netflix’s rollout—check the app for precise availability.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8 Expected Cast
As an unscripted documentary series, Drive to Survive does not feature a traditional cast. Instead, Season 8 will follow drivers, team principals, and key personnel from the 2025 Formula 1 grid.
Drivers expected to feature prominently include:
- Lando Norris (McLaren)
- Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
- Oscar Piastri (McLaren)
- Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari)
- Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, George Russell, Fernando Alonso, Yuki Tsunoda, among others
Team principals and senior figures from McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Aston Martin, and midfield teams are also expected to appear. Netflix has not released an official participant list, and screen time traditionally varies by storyline and access granted during the season.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8 Potential Plot
The eighth season follows the 2025 Formula 1 racing year, which will have numerous rivalries and off-track story arcs throughout the year.
As with prior seasons, the editorial emphasis and story framing of the show’s programme have been left solely for Netflix to decide how they produce their shows; thus, some of the storylines presented may be condensed or developed into dramatizations for ease of understanding or speed of viewing. Teasers also present a season full of instability and rapid changes in power dynamics, although there are no episode-level summaries available.
