Rohit Sharma a star Indian batsman has not been named in the Indian squad for the upcoming India tour of Australia. The Mumbai Indians skipper suffered a hamstring injury during a match against Kings XI Punjab earlier this month.there was a lot of bustle around his selection and naming KL Rahul as the vice-captain.as he has not been ruled out of the remaining IPL, questions arise around why is there no talks about his selection.
A BCCI functionary revealed that the medical team is yet to assess the batsman’s injury on Sunday. “Rohit will be assessed tomorrow and a call will be taken after that on whether he is good to go. As is the case with hamstring injuries, the real challenge is the sprints and the acceleration and deceleration process will be the focus to understand if he has recovered fully or will need a little more time,” the functionary told.
The batsman is seen playing at the MI nets thus the severity of the injury is still unknown. The main issue is of acceleration and declaration which is required while running between the wickets and running sprints. The Indian team will reach Australia on 12th November and Rohit Sharma can still be a part if he attains fitness.
