Virat Kohli’s long-awaited return to domestic List A cricket in the Vijay Hazare Trophy has generated massive excitement, but fans will not be able to watch the Delhi vs Andhra Pradesh match either from the stadium or on television.

Originally, the contest was scheduled to be held at Bengaluru’s iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, due to security concerns, the venue has been shifted to the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. As a result, the match will be conducted behind closed doors, with no spectators allowed inside the venue.

Adding to the disappointment for fans, the match will not be available for live telecast or digital streaming. While Star Sports and JioHotstar are the official broadcast partners for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26, there is currently no confirmation on live coverage for this particular fixture. Other matches during the tournament are expected to be broadcast and streamed as per schedule, but official clarity on this game is still awaited.

Kohli’s presence in the fixture holds special significance, as he has not featured in India’s domestic 50-over competition for nearly 15 years. His last appearance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy came in 2010, when he represented Delhi and impressed with the bat. Since then, his commitments across international formats have kept him away from domestic one-day cricket.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy remains India’s premier List A tournament, featuring 38 teams across Elite and Plate groups followed by knockout stages. Performances in the competition often influence future national selections, making Kohli’s return particularly notable.

With both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma stepping away from Test and T20I cricket, the ODI format has now become their primary focus. Their participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy — Kohli for Delhi and Rohit for Mumbai — is being viewed as a move to maintain match fitness and rhythm ahead of India’s upcoming white-ball assignments.

Until official confirmation is issued, fans will have to rely on score updates and reports to follow Kohli’s much-anticipated domestic comeback.
