Vardhman Special Steels Limited has approved an investment of ₹475 crore to set up a new steel forging and machining manufacturing facility in Ludhiana, marking a major step in its expansion into value-added automotive components. The upcoming unit will be developed with technical know-how and expertise from Aichi Steel Corporation, reinforcing the company’s focus on advanced manufacturing standards and quality-led growth.

The proposed forging unit represents a strategic forward integration of Vardhman Special Steels’ existing steelmaking operations. With this expansion, the company aims to move further up the automotive value chain by offering a comprehensive, one-stop solution to automotive OEMs, covering everything from steel production to finished forged components. This integrated approach is expected to enhance product consistency, improve supply reliability, and enable closer alignment with customer requirements.

By incorporating Japanese quality standards across the manufacturing value chain, the new facility is designed to strengthen operational efficiency and deliver higher precision components for critical automotive applications. The move also aligns with Vardhman Special Steels’ long-term strategy of deepening its presence in the automotive, engineering, tractor, bearing, and allied industries while expanding its value-added product portfolio.
