Despite his standout performance in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, Abhigyan Kundu is not part of the IPL 2026 auction list.
Kundu, a left-handed wicketkeeper-batter, made headlines after scoring a remarkable double century against Malaysia U19, anchoring India’s massive total and underlining his growing stature in the U19 setup. In that match, he scored 209 off 125 balls, striking 17 fours and 9 sixes, while also maintaining a strong presence behind the stumps. Across the tournament, he has been noted for his safe wicketkeeping, sharp glove work, and calm batting under pressure.
However, despite this breakthrough performance, Kundu’s name does not appear in the official list of players shortlisted for the IPL 2026 auction. The auction pool primarily includes senior domestic players, capped internationals, and select uncapped cricketers who have registered and been approved by franchises and the league.
As a result, Abhigyan Kundu will not be available for bidding in IPL 2026. His absence is not a reflection of talent but rather a matter of eligibility, age-group transition, and timing, as players from the U19 circuit typically enter the IPL radar after sustained performances in senior domestic cricket.
That said, his Asia Cup heroics have firmly placed him among the young names to watch in Indian cricket, and future IPL auctions could well feature his name as he progresses through the ranks.
