VST Tillers Tractors has taken a major leap in the evolution of farm mechanisation with the launch of its first fully electric Power Tiller and Power Weeder. The unveiling took place at the 9th EIMA Agrimach in PUSA, New Delhi, where the products were introduced by Smt. S. Rukmani, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (M&T), Government of India. Following the announcement, VST Tillers’ shares moved over 2 percent as the market responded positively to the company’s sharp shift toward clean and smart agricultural technology.

With this new EV portfolio, VST has formally entered the electric farm machinery segment. The company is positioning itself at the forefront of sustainable agri-innovation at a time when the farming community is increasingly looking for cost-efficient and eco-friendly alternatives. The electric tiller and weeder have been designed to address the everyday challenges faced by small and marginal farmers who want dependable productivity without worrying about rising diesel prices or high maintenance demands. By switching to electric power, these machines aim to deliver cleaner operation, noticeably lower running costs, and simpler handling, making them a practical fit for modern Indian agricultural practices.

This launch carries even more weight because it is backed by VST’s strong foundation in global electric mobility. The company has been supplying advanced drivetrain systems to well-known international electric tractor manufacturers for several years, contributing to autonomous, smart, and next-generation tractor platforms. This long experience has helped VST develop a deep understanding of EV efficiency, durability, and performance expectations. That expertise is now being channelled into India’s small-farm mechanisation ecosystem, allowing the company to create homegrown solutions that bring together global innovation and local requirements.
