RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a leading public sector telecom infrastructure provider, recently experienced a significant setback as a work order worth ₹209.78 crore from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) was cancelled. The order, originally intended for the implementation of the Education Quality Enhancement Project in Bihar under the PM SHRI initiative, was formally issued by the State Project Director, BEPC.

According to the official communication under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the cancellation was due to unavoidable reasons. RailTel had initially received the Letter of Award (LOA) for the project, reflecting a substantial investment in enhancing digital and educational infrastructure in the state.

The cancellation represents a notable development for RailTel, which has been actively involved in government projects aimed at improving connectivity and educational technology across India. The company will likely reassess its project pipeline and explore alternative opportunities to offset the impact of this cancellation.
