Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) shares gained nearly 3% in early trade today after the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved multiple capital acquisition proposals worth around ₹79,000 crore to strengthen India’s Armed Forces.
The DAC meeting, held at South Block in New Delhi, cleared several high-value procurements for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The approvals include modern weapons systems, advanced platforms, and critical defence equipment — all aimed at boosting indigenous defence manufacturing under the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Bharat Dynamics shares were up 2.62% at ₹ 1,554.50 apiece around 9.20 am. It has jumped 37.12% this year, so far.
