Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has announced a landmark partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India. The collaboration will focus on the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles, providing a comprehensive solution for truck and bus operators looking to transition to electric mobility.
Under this Memorandum of Understanding, Tata Power will leverage its extensive EV charging infrastructure and expertise in customized charging solutions, while VECV will bring its domain knowledge in energy efficiency to optimize electric trucks for real-world applications. Together, the companies will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable future for India’s transport sector.
The partnership is set to tackle critical challenges in commercial EV adoption, such as range anxiety, limited charging infrastructure, and associated costs. Beyond the Eicher Pro X, the collaboration will also support the deployment of other models in Eicher’s growing electric vehicle portfolio, ensuring that fleet operators have access to efficient and reliable electric solutions.
Tata Power has made significant strides in building India’s EV ecosystem through its EZ Charge network, which now includes over 1.5 lakh home chargers, 5,500 public and fleet charging points, and 1,200 E-bus charging stations across more than 630 cities and towns. With over 4 lakh registered customers, Tata Power’s chargers are strategically placed at highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, bus depots, and residential complexes, enabling convenient access for both private and commercial EV users.
