Tata Motors Limited announced its monthly sales performance for August 2025, reporting a total of 73,178 units sold across domestic and international markets. This reflects a slight increase from 71,693 units sold in August 2024.

Domestic Sales Performance

The company registered 68,482 units in the domestic market, a 2% decline compared to 70,006 units in the same month last year.

Commercial Vehicles (CV)

Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle segment showed steady growth in August 2025:

  • HCV Trucks: 7,451 units (up 5% YoY)

  • ILMCV Trucks: 5,711 units (up 15% YoY)

  • Passenger Carriers: 3,577 units (up 5% YoY)

  • SCV Cargo & Pickup: 10,742 units (up 4% YoY)

Overall, domestic CV sales stood at 27,481 units, a 6% rise year-on-year. Exports from the commercial vehicle segment (CV IB) were 2,382 units, marking a strong 77% growth. Total CV sales reached 29,863 units, up 10% compared to August 2024.

Sales of MH&ICV (medium & heavy commercial vehicles) in the domestic market stood at 13,405 units against 12,008 units last year, while combined domestic and international MH&ICV sales rose to 14,667 units from 12,708 units.

Passenger Vehicles (PV)

In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors reported:

  • Total PV Domestic Sales (includes EVs): 41,001 units (down 7% YoY)

  • PV Exports (IB): 2,314 units (up 573% YoY)

  • Total PV Sales (Domestic + IB): 43,315 units (down 3% YoY)

Record EV Sales

Electric vehicles continued to be a bright spot for Tata Motors. The company recorded 8,540 EV sales (domestic + exports), registering a robust 44% year-on-year growth. This marks the highest-ever monthly EV sales for the company, highlighting rising consumer confidence and accelerating adoption of green mobility solutions.
