Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched its 5G services in Nagpur, marking another milestone in its phased national rollout. With this launch, Nagpur joins cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh in Vi’s growing 5G network footprint.
The telecom giant plans to extend 5G coverage across 23 cities, with Pune, Nashik, and Aurangabad lined up next. In total, Vi is targeting 17 priority circles where it has already acquired 5G spectrum.
Vi users in Nagpur with 5G-enabled smartphones can now access the high-speed network. As part of an introductory offer, unlimited 5G data is available to customers on plans starting at ₹299. Users can enjoy seamless streaming, high-speed downloads, lag-free gaming, video calls, and real-time access to cloud-based services.
“We are excited to bring the future of connectivity to Orange City,” said Rohit Tandon, Operations Director, Vodafone Idea. “With next-gen 5G and our robust 4G services, we’re committed to enhancing digital experiences for our users across Maharashtra.”
To ensure strong network performance, Vi has partnered with Ericsson to install energy-efficient infrastructure and AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON), allowing real-time optimization of service delivery.
In addition to rolling out 5G, Vi has also ramped up its 4G network across Maharashtra and Goa. The company has deployed 900 MHz spectrum on over 7,250 sites for improved indoor coverage and boosted 2100 MHz capacity across more than 6,700 sites. Over 2,000 new sites have also been added in 2,200 towns, supporting both urban and rural connectivity.
