In 2017, the ‘Shape of You’ singer, Ed Sheeran, Princess Beatrice of York, who is ninth in line to the British throne, and pop singer James Blunt were partying in the Royal Lodge in Windsor for a gathering. Bizarre rumors were circulated of the princess slashing Ed’s face while knighting Blunt with a ceremonial sword.
Yesterday, Ed Sheeran’s manager, Stuart Camp, brought up the incident and confirmed the rumors of the sword being the cause for the scar on the singer’s face. During an interview with Vulture, Ed said that he did not realize he had been cut until he, “looked down at [his] shirt and it was just completely covered in blood.” He was rushed to the Epsom hospital and had to get several stitches. Well, his manager was not happy at all about how careless the princess was, as we heard during an interview with People. “Someone’s a f—ing idiot and they’ve been waving a sword around when you’re all drunk. It’s not safe!”
However, James Blunt was absolutely humiliated about the incident and denied its happening during the reports that were circulated in 2017. He said Ed probably injured himself while he was drunk and messing around. “We made a fancy story up; people fell for it,” he said. “It was very embarrassing.”
