Apollo Tyres has announced the acquisition of an additional 3.43% equity stake in Green Infra Wind Power Projects Limited (GIWPPL), raising its total holding in the renewable energy company to 21.27%. The transaction, completed on May 6, 2025, involved the purchase of 60,000 equity shares at ₹10 each, amounting to ₹6 lakh in total.

GIWPPL operates a 24 MW wind power facility in Tamil Nadu and had a turnover of ₹23.5 crore as of March 31, 2024. The acquisition does not fall under related party transactions, and no promoter or group company holds any interest in the entity.

Apollo Tyres clarified that this acquisition aligns with its strategy to procure wind power, contributing to its sustainability goals. The transaction was carried out under applicable Indian Electricity Rules, 2005. Prior to this, Apollo Tyres held 17.84% stake in GIWPPL, which is a subsidiary of Sembcorp Green Infra Pvt. Ltd.
