Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner remain close friends, but multiple sources confirm they are not rekindling their romance. Their bond has strengthened in recent years, particularly following Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez, but insiders emphasize that their relationship is purely platonic.
A source familiar with the matter stated that Affleck and Garner’s connection has evolved into a supportive friendship. “Jen is a grounding and trusting force in Ben’s life,” the source noted, adding that the two co-parents have prioritized their children’s well-being. The former couple, who were married for a decade before separating in 2015, share three children—Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13. Their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Recent speculation about a possible reconciliation emerged after Affleck and Garner were seen together at their son Samuel’s 13th birthday celebration on March 4. The pair appeared in high spirits while attending a paintball outing. However, sources clarify that their increased time together is solely for the benefit of their children.
Following his divorce from Lopez in January 2025, Affleck has reportedly been focusing on his role as a father. “Ben has been spending more time with Jen because it makes co-parenting easier,” the insider explained.
Despite the public attention on their relationship, Garner remains committed to her current partner, businessman John Miller, with whom she has been in a stable relationship since 2021. Sources close to the couple affirm that Miller is unbothered by Garner’s friendship with Affleck.
Affleck, meanwhile, is said to be in a better mental and emotional state than in recent years, focusing on his family and career.
