In the lastest match of WPL between Mumbai Indians Women (MIW) and UP Warriorz (UPW), MI-W continued their dominance in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 with a commanding performance against UP Warriorz (UPW). MI who was positioned at number in the table took on UP placed at the bottom of the table. 

Matthews continues to haunt UPW

Hayley Matthews’ once again led the charge for the MI-W as she scored a  stellar knock of 68 off 46 balls, marking her second consecutive 50-plus score and third in her last four innings against UPW.Matthews, who has been a thorn in UPW’s plans, once again delivered with the bat. 

The explosive all-rounder smashed 8 fours and 2 sixes, taking Mumbai off to a strong start alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt. Their crucial 50-plus partnership—their fifth in WPL history— has played a key role in the chase. Matthews was eventually dismissed for 68, bowled by Kranti Goud, but by then, she had put Mumbai in a dominant position.

Kerr’s five-for derails UPW’s innings

Earlier, UP Warriorz, opting to bat first, struggled to accelerate and were restricted to 150 runs, thanks to a sensational five-wicket haul from Amelia Kerr. The leg-spinner’s spell ensured that MIW had a manageable chase, which their in-form batters capitalized on.
